�Midlands Hairdresser of the Year 2004�, Peter Prosser, is very proud to announce an exciting new collaboration with one of the UK�s hottest photographers in bringing together his latest collection of pictures for 2006.
Audiences familiar with hairdressing and fashion television over the years� will recall the name Antony Mascolo - winner of the ultimate accolade of being awarded �British Hairdresser of the Year� 3 times over - with immediate appointment into the British Hairdressers� �Hall of Fame�.
Antony Mascolo was one of the first pioneers to bring hairdressing credibility to our screens and across all media and has been at the top of his career for the last 30 years. Known the world over for his amazing skills with his scissors and styling techniques and cutting edge images he produces within his work, Antony soon was to get the bug for photography. An absolute perfectionist, he was able to transfer his keen eye from being in front of the camera styling hair, to very quickly becoming an absolute professional in his own right behind the camera in photographing his own images that best created his looks and best possible results.
Today, turning photography into an established successful business, Antony is at the helm of �Bedhead Studios�. Antony recently teamed up with Peter Prosser Hairdressing and his team to create an astounding collection of hair artwork, which will very soon be emblazoned upon the salon walls and windows of Peter Prosser Hairdressing and Peter Prosser Training.
Peter himself, has over 40 years� experience in hairdressing and has obviously developed his own skills that has gained him national recognition in his own right, winning awards and having his collections published throughout the media, as well as running his own training school. To therefore work with Antony, whom Peter has always regarded as being an ambassador for hairdressing was an amazing experience, as Peter explains:
�Fantastic! Inspirational! I�ve always felt his looks were very funky, edgy and forward, yet working with him we�ve been able to create all sorts of looks and has enabled Antony to interpret what we want in helping us to complete our idea, which is very positive! Antony has a complete feel of what�s going on with the models and the entire shoot. He�s so positive and he is by no means a primadonna in the slightest. He�s a slap you on the back kind of chap like �You alright mate?� He just gets on with it. The whole team showed such camaraderie and nothing seems to be a problem with these guys and you can tell from the atmosphere on the day that it was so relaxed!�
When it comes to the collection being launched through press activity and in-salon pictures, how does Peter see his customers reacting to his new collection without giving too much away at this time?
�I think they�ll like the feeling of volume, shine and movement in the hair and that it will encourage them to try and take themselves away from simply straightening their hair and to show them different ideas!�
And when it comes to Antony on Peter and his creative ideas, here�s what Antony had to say:
�Peter is a lovely guy! I think his ideas are very strong. He wants to create a lot of glamour, a kind of sexy glamour feel, with movement, with curl and with waves and it�s looking nice and strong. I think really it�s something a little bit more glamorous than necessarily people wearing the looks every day in that it�s not every day hair-cutting or finishing, it�s more about the glamorous finishing and people who like to have that special kind of look. I think it�s also a way of showing people about how you control hair and how you create a total image and that�s what Peter is after. It�s creating something that is really glamorous and the challenge for me is to photograph it differently because it�s a great idea and has worked really well!
Together the collaboration between Peter Prosser and Antony Mascolo is a relationship destined to grow.
