Peter Prosser’s career derives from a period of time that was arguably one of the most exciting, inspirational and thought-provoking decades of all, the 1960’s.
The 1960’s were a time for creativity with photographers, fashion designers and interior designers impregnating the country with bursts of psychedelic colours and originality never before been seen. Architectural haircuts famously worn by the likes of Mary Quant, Mia Farrow and Twiggy had Peter instantly hooked and, at 15, desperate to learn the trade.
With the blessing of his father, who told him, ‘Well hair always grows, so you’ll never be out of work!’ Peter began his apprenticeship in a salon in Hereford in1965 and has never looked back.
Being so influenced by this new era Peter excelled in cutting hair. Travelling frequently to London to Vidal Sassoon and attending various seminars, Peter’s skill with his scissors and his reputation grew.
Peter embarked on a partnership that was to last 30 years, earning him tremendous credibility, in and around the Hereford area, where he has owned several salons.
In 1998 Peter made a momentous decision, to start a new business on his own. With the support of his wife Tracey, who handles a lot of the business behind the scenes, the salon was an instant success. Peter’s love of photography is evident as his work is emblazoned throughout the salon and bears testament to a man who is master of his trade.
Being able to call upon these forty years of experience, recently led to Peter securing a life long ambition, winner of ‘Midlands Hairdresser of the Year 2004’ - a dream come true and the only person in Hereford to have ever won the title.
Peter dedicates a lot of his success to his team, who support him on a daily basis and his clients, many of whom have been with him for many years. Peter’s vision still remains the same today as always - to make his customers look and feel the best they possibly can, by the dedicated commitment and the services they provide in the salon.
